Computing Science & Cybersecurity Student Association
The Computing Science Student Association (CSAS) is the student organization that is affiliated with the Computing Sciences department. We meet regularly to learn about new topics in Computing Science and Cybersecurity, socialize, and organize outreach activities. Part of our activities is to mentor students that take Computing Sciences and Cybersecurity classes or they are interested in a major in Computing Science or Cybersecurity. Our activities include, Hackathon, building and programming robots, mobile application development, game development, and outreach to Jacksonville high schools. Our goal for this year is to spread the beauty and joy of Computer Science to internal and external communities on application development and cybersecurity projects and workshops.

ACM Jacksonville University Student Chapter
Who are we?
We are a group of students who all have some kind of a passion when it comes to Technology
and Cybersecurity. We believe that JU should have an inclusive environment and a
place for all of us to learn and
have fun. We want you to be proud to be a part of the ACM JU student Chapter.
We are looking to provide a place where you can enjoy and explore the world of technology
and cybersecurity and find like minded people in your field to explore projects together
and to create an environment where you
are proud to be a member and represent the chapter at events and develop your skills
to a new level.
We also hope to develop connections with companies outside of the university to further
the development of the students.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon Jacksonville University Chapter
Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) is an international honor society for students and professionals in the computing and information disciplines.
The only Honor Society endorsed by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society (IEEE-CS), the two largest computer organizations in the world.
The only Honor Society that presents cash awards to chapters who send representatives to its annual convention, further encouraging interaction on a large scale level.
Our objectives
- Objective 1: Promote academic excellence within the computing field.
- Encourage members to strive for academic excellence through recognition of outstanding achievements.
- Facilitate study groups and tutoring sessions to support members in their coursework.
- Organize academic workshops and seminars to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Objective 2: Cultivate a collaborative environment for networking and professional
growth.
- Arrange regular networking events to connect UPE members with industry professionals, alumni, and faculty.
- Coordinate mentorship programs to facilitate meaningful connections between experienced members and newcomers.
- Organize interdisciplinary events and projects to encourage collaboration among UPE members and other student organizations.
- Objective 3: Contribute to the local computing community through outreach and service.
- Organize coding workshops and STEM-related activities for K-12 students to promote interest in computing.
- Collaborate with local non-profit organizations to provide technical assistance and support.
- Participate in community service initiatives to use computing skills for the betterment of society
How to be a Upsilon Pi Epsilon member:
UPE is a honor society. The student candidate must meet the following eligibility requirement:
- Cumulative GPA great than or equal to 3.0
- Major or minor in Computing Science, Cybersecurity, or Data Science
- Including 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in the basic courses in the
computing and information disciplines

Join us for a Resume Review and Career Consulting Event at STEAM Building 145 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Our dedicated Career Service Office advisors will be present to review your resumes and provide guidance on preparing for your future career.
During this event, we are also offering 15-minute mock interview sessions, where you can sign up to interview with our esteemed professors and industry partners. Keason Drawdy, a Senior Cyber Security Solutions Consultant with Emtec, will be joining us as an interviewer to provide valuable insights into career preparation.
Additionally, we will provide coffee, snacks, and refreshments in room STEAM 145, creating a welcoming environment for networking and discussion.
This event presents an excellent opportunity for you to learn how to build a strong portfolio during your time in our programs. Take advantage of this valuable resource to enhance your career readiness and gain practical advice from industry professionals.
