Cinema Production London, England
Jacksonville University’s cutting-edge Media Arts Department is excited to offer a
fully immersive Summer production program on location in London, England. Students
actively participate in a three week, fully comprehensive class focused on the facets
of filmmaking including: screenwriting, producing, directing, acting, cinematography,
sound production, lighting, and post-production.
Students will begin the course online and spend one week reinforcing pre-production
and production fundamentals before traveling to London for three weeks. The three-weeks
on-site include practical production on a scripted, short film along with cultural
excursions to historic landmarks around London. The final, fifth week, will take place
online back in the US where students will focus on post-production.
This program is designed for students with a basic film, video, or acting background
who would like to expand their knowledge on a guided film set while experiencing the
culture of the United Kingdom and earning Fine Arts and EL graduation credits. This
can also be counted towards the Fine Arts requirement, upper-level credit count, and
the JU Film major or minor.
