About the Program
Mission
It is the mission of Jacksonville University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program: To prepare our graduates as transformative, culturally competent, lifelong learners demonstrating excellence in leadership, ethics, practice and scholarship to promote full participation in meaningful occupations, health and wellness for individuals, groups and populations.
The doctor of occupational therapy program aims to not only prepare students to become evidenced-based entry level therapists, but will also help students develop in-depth experiences in one or more of the following areas:
Leadership in:
- Research
- Clinical practice skills
- Administration
- Program and policy development
- Advocacy
- Education
- Theory development

Vision
The OTD department’s vision is to be a local, regional, national, and international leader for excellence and innovation in entry-level doctoral occupational therapy education, practice, and scholarship.
