Professional Information
Dr. Lindsay McKim is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing at Jacksonville University, and works as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Vijapura Behavioral Health treating children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of psychiatric disorders and addiction problems. She began her career as a licensed mental health counselor, earning a master’s degree and Ph.D. in counseling from the University of Florida. Dr. McKim spent several years working at UNF as a counselor and clinical professor before returning to school to become a nurse practitioner. She received an MSN degree from Vanderbilt University in the psychiatric specialty. She is Board Certified as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is also credentialed to prescribe buprenorphine for opiod addiction treatment. Her active memberships include the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychiatric Nursing Association, and the Neuroscience Education Institute. Her areas of clinical and research interests include anxiety disorders and OCD, trauma, addiction medicine, pharmacogenetics, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.
