Job Summary

Primary job responsibilities will be the design, implementation, and scheduling of strength and conditioning programs for sports as assigned by the Assocaite AD, Sports Performance. The anticipated sport coverage for this position will be Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Soccer, Softball, and Women’s Rowing but these coverages may be changed from time to time and additional sport coverage may be required. Primary responsibilities also include assisting the Associate AD, Sports Performance in all aspects of Division I Strength and Conditioning program including, but not limited to, teaching student athletes how to perform Weight Lifting and Conditioning. In addition, this position will assist with the daily operation and maintenance of strength and conditioning facilities and other duties as assigned by the Associate AD, Sports Performance. Must be proficient in Olympic and strength training movements, exercise selection and programming, speed mechanics, agility drills, and nutrition. The ability to communicate and develop a working relationship with sport coaches, athletic trainers, and student-athletes is imperative. Support other strength staff members as assigned. Travel optional

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the development and assessment of initiatives, which supports the University’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Effectively communicate with diverse audiences and constituencies through different
    channels. 
  • Respond in a collaborative manner, to the needs and concerns of colleagues, students,
    parent, and stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external partner.
  • Assist with the implementation of departmental, division, and University programs
    and initiates as needed.
  • Organizes and prepares for meetings and events hosted by the department.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

  • Minimum Qualifications for Position:
    • Requires a Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications for Position:
    • Master’s degree in related field. 1-2 years of relevant
      experience.
    • SCCC or CSCS certification.
    • Knowledge of NCAA rules / regulations and CPR-AED certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move heavy weights
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises/drills/ etc
