Job Summary

This 9-month Expert-in-Residence position includes responsibilities in teaching, professional development, and service. Teaching expectations are up to 18 contact hours per year and may include face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online delivery. Courses may include Strategic Leadership in the Doctoral program and other leadership and management courses. Administrative duties related to this role include assistance with strategic leadership initiatives at the college level, such as the roll out of new programs, fostering engagement with the business community, and creating a distinctive value proposition for graduate programs. Candidates must be willing and able to mentor doctoral students in the research process. Individuals that have prior senior executive industry experience and teaching experience in a university setting are preferred as well as those with management consulting and/or board service roles. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned
  • Maintain AACSB faculty qualification status
  • Work with student majors on co-curricular initiatives in support of retention efforts
  • Department, college, and university service
  • Research activities

Required Skills/Abilities

  • The ability to teach a broad range of lower-level and upper-level courses
  • The ability to incorporate technology into classroom teaching and to teach online and hybrid classes
  • The ability to supervise and conduct research and supervise student research in area of expertise
  • The ability to work with diverse students and various class sizes
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

  • Typically, terminal degree in area of expertise
  • Individuals must be academically qualified, and maintenance of academic qualifications is required per SACS and AACSB requirements. 

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Ability to teach up to 24 hours weekly.
