José Sarzi Amade
Dr. José Sarzi Amade is an independent researcher. He earned his PhD in 2016, at the University of Aix-Marseille, he is an affiliated member to the Aix Center of Romance Studies. His doctoral dissertation was about the missions of the Italian Capuchins mandated by the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith in the Ancient Kingdom of Congo during the XVIIe century. His research has delt with the colonial imagery of Black Africa, the Christian missions, the Atlantic slave trade,the conflits between European crowns in Africa.
José also holds a Master Degree in French Didactics for School and Business, Specific
and Academic Purposes.
He has lived and worked as a literature and language lector in different countries
such as France, Italy, Norway or Ecuador.
José has published several articles in the fields of religious and cultural anthropology,
comparative literature, engaged cinema, sociology and sociolinguistics.
