College of Arts & Sciences Announcement

To the JU community,

Recently, we undertook an active search for a new Dean for the College of Arts & Sciences. With our thanks to a dedicated and hard-working search committee, we have decided to engage one of our most experienced and respected faculty members to take on this significant leadership role at this time.

I am pleased to announce that Associate Provost Dr. Lee Ann Clements has graciously accepted the additional responsibilities of Interim Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, effective June 1st. As detailed in previous announcements, Dr. Clements has an extensive and distinguished track record of scholarship excellence. We are grateful to have a leader of Dr. Clements’ talent and experience to guide the way for this important college.

Please join me in thanking Dr. Douglas Hazzard for his years of service as Dean of the College. We wish him the very best on his return to teaching. We also thank Dr. Clements and congratulate her as she assumes these key new responsibilities on the executive leadership team.
