31 New Scholarships, Faculty & Student Symposium, Campus Improvements
April 3, 2013
Dear Faculty, Students and Staff,
Three quick updates for you on encouraging developments here on campus. Please feel free to pass this information on more broadly to those you think would be interested.
First, we are very pleased that our campus-wide effort to create and fund new scholarships for our students has reached a key milestone. For our "March Forward" campaign, during the 31 days of March, we attained commitments for 31 new, named scholarships for JU students. We are grateful to the many alumni, faculty, staff and businesses who dug deep to create these generous four-year commitments. Of course, we will continue to do more on this, and anyone interested in helping create a new scholarship can just be in touch with our University Advancement team at (904) 256-7393. This is exciting progress for sure, and I ask that you spread the word about this heightened level of support and commitment.
Second, by way of this note, I am inviting all of us to please consider attending a portion of a great University undertaking this week, the 2013 Jacksonville University Faculty & Student Symposium. It runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, April 3-5, in the Davis College of Business, Conference Rooms B/C. This is our chance to support our fellow Dolphins as they discuss a wide range of interesting subjects. Read more about the symposium and see a full schedule here. I look forward to seeing you there.
Finally, thanks to so many of you for your participation and support in the wide-ranging effort to upgrade our campus and facilities. Many are hard at work right now to create a learning environment that is safe, beautiful and in keeping with our standing as an outstanding University. I’ll have more to say on some further planned improvements in the coming weeks.
Let’s all please stay in close touch as we work together for an even better Jacksonville University. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
