Professional Information
Dr. Kristin R. Alberts is Director of the Jacksonville University Student Counseling Center and an affiliate faculty in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Dr. Alberts completed both her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also completed her doctoral internship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She has experience working on interdisciplinary health care teams at major medical universities with chronic pain, spinal injury, and heart and lung transplant, and functional gastrointestinal disorder populations. In addition, she has experience on interdisciplinary research teams working with a variety of medical professionals. She has served as the Director of the Student Counseling Center for over 15 years. She is passionate about clinical training for graduate students and enjoys helping future clinicians find their own professional identity. She is a Licensed Psychologist (PY6602) and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida.
