Job Summary
Primary responsibilities are to assist in planning and organizing all phases of a Division I Women’s Lacrosse program including development of the student-athlete, practice and film strategy, scouting and game preparation, recruitment and evaluation of prospective studentathletes, marketing and community involvement and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach. This position will also assist the Head Coach in organization, administration, and promotion of the program. Approximately 60% of the Assistant Coach’s responsibility is dedicated to the instruction of lacrosse through on/off-field training through use of video and other teaching techniques. Approximately 40% of the Assistant Coach’s responsibility is recruiting and other administrative duties. Candidates must be committed to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes.

Duties/Responsibilities
Compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Jacksonville University regulations. Primary duties include:
- Assisting Head Coach in all phases of coaching
- Player development, evaluation and mentorship
- Academic Support to assist student athletes to achieve success
- Recruiting
- Practice planning and implementation
- Scouting/film analysis
- Team strategy
- Community Service
- Team travel
- Day-to-day program administration
- Providing a positive collegiate experience for student athletes
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience
- Knowledge of the draw preferred + offense/defense
- Leadership, commitment and ability to motivate and teach
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of NCAA and ASUN
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
1. Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
2. Minimum Work Experience:
Previous collegiate playing and or coaching experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of NCAA, ASUN and Jacksonville University rules and regulations
A demonstrated expertise in coaching women’s lacrosse
The ability to lead and motivate student athletes
Ability to supervise and instruct athletic performance practice
3. Preferred Qualifications:
Proven recruiting skills – ability to recruit student-athletes that will be successful
in the
classroom and on the field
Excellent communication skills – written and oral
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of all aspects of social media
Field instruction and knowledge of the game
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform essential job duties or have special accommodations
arranged in advance - Work Conditions:
- Required to work atypical hours including nights, weekends, potential holidays
- May be required to practice in heat, cold, inclement weather
- Work hours varying depending on the season
