Position Summary
Primary job responsibilities will be the design, implementation, and scheduling of
strength and conditioning programs for sports as assigned by the Assistant AD, Sports
Performance. The anticipated sport coverage for this position will be Men’s Lacrosse
and Men’s Soccer but these coverages may be changed from time to time and additional
sport coverage may be required. Primary responsibilities also include assisting the
Assistant AD, Sports Performance in all aspects of Division I Strength and Conditioning
program including, but not limited to, teaching student athletes how to perform Weight
Lifting and Conditioning. In addition, this position will assist with the daily operation
and maintenance of strength and conditioning facilities and other duties as assigned
by the Assistant AD, Sports Performance. Must be proficient in Olympic and strength
training movements, exercise
selection and programming, speed mechanics, agility drills, and nutrition. The ability
to communicate and develop a working relationship with sport coaches, athletic trainers,
and student-athletes is imperative. Support other strength staff members as assigned.
Travel optional.
Work Conditions
- Early mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays
- Working with large groups of athletes without the proper amount of staffing to ensure the safety of athletes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move heavy weights
- Ability to demonstrate exercises/drills/ etc.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirement
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field. 1-2 years of relevant experience. SCCC or CSCS certification. Knowledge of NCAA rules / regulations and CPR-AED certification
