Winter Term Resources
Jacksonville University is proud to offer a new Winter Term of completely online undergraduate classes. During this term, many of the resources you rely on will be available remotely. Some offices may observe limited hours or operations during the holidays. Below, you'll find contact information, links to resources, and operating schedules for the services you might need.

Available Services
Academic Technology
Academic Technology is available through the winter term for assistance with course development, technology support, video production, and training. While the University is open during winter term, the Remote Teaching Room will be available Monday through Friday 1:00 – 3:00.

Blackboard Support
Jacksonville University offers 24 X 7 Blackboard support. If you have any issues, you can contact Blackboard support through chat or calling 1-844-348-1615. Escalated cases will be handled within 24 hours.
Registrar’s Office
The Registrar’s Office will provide phone, email, and video chat support Monday through Friday from November 30 through December 18. From December 19 to January 10, the office will provide email support with a 1-day response time. Phone, email, and video support will return on January 11, 2021, as the University resumes normal business hours.
Academic Advising
The Academic Advising Center will provide support by phone, email, and video chat Monday through Friday from November 30 to December 18. From December 19 to January 10, the office will provide email support with a 24-48 hour response time. Full support will return on January 11, 2021, when the University resumes normal business hours.
Library Services
Swisher Library is committed to student success during the winter term. Librarians will be working during the winter term to assist students with their research assignments and provide synchronous virtual reference. Students can make an appointment with a librarian using Book-a-Librarian.
Office of Information Technology Help Desk
The IT Help Desk will provide support through the Winter Term. Limited coverage will begin when the campus winter break starts on Monday, December 21. During the break time, voicemail will be monitored hourly from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Only emergency calls will receive a response during the break. E-mail requests will be checked daily, but we encourage that urgent requests be reported directly by phone to (904) 256-7200. A Help Desk ticket will be created for all other requests and completed when the campus resumes normal operations. We will resume normal operations on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Tutoring
During the winter term, all classes will have access to online tutoring through Brainfuse. Brainfuse offers instant, live tutoring, and the ability to submit a paper for the online writing lab to review. Beginning Monday, December 7, students can access Brainfuse by going into their Blackboard class, clicking on Tools, and selecting Brainfuse Online Tutoring. A new window will open and bring students to the services available for that course. Writing Center
The Writing Center will be accepting online submissions during the Winter term. Students should forward their work to wcenter@ju.edu; a response can be expected within two business days. The message should include a copy of the writing the student has completed thus far (as an attachment) along with an assignment sheet or detailed description of the assignment in the body of the email.
