Thank you for visiting the home for the network of friends helping make
varsity sailing a reality at JU! We are reaching out to alumni, families of
current JU sailors, and friends from our local community of sailors and
non-sailors to find resources, ideas, and help with our efforts. Use the
links provided to navigate through our website, contact us, or make a donation.
We hope to form a board of directors for this network, so if you are interested
in helping with that, please contact us. Most importantly, make sure to talk
about what we are doing and mention us whenever you are talking with people who
are into sailing, competitive or recreational, who have an interest in promoting
sailing. We are following the same process that some of the top teams in the
nation have also used to get to the top--College of Charleston, St. Mary's
(Maryland), Old Dominion, just to name a few--all have struggled in the early
days, but in recent years have been to the national championships on a regular
basis.
Please Get Involved!
We believe that we could have a nationally ranked team within a few years if
we can (1) hire a highly talented collegiate coach, and (2) start recruiting
from among the over 300 scholastic (high school) sailing programs around the
nation. There are less than 40 varsity sailing programs in the U.S. and we want
to be one of them. Use the links provided on this page to get connected with
others like yourself--parents of our sailors, alumni from JU, and friends from
the sailing community. We need contacts, resources, and partners to make this
happen and you may have that one connection we need! Get involved and help us
see our dream become a reality!
