Position Description


Jacksonville University, a comprehensive private university serving 3,400 students is accepting applications for the position of Financial Aid Director. The Financial Aid Director play a leadership role in the development and oversight of critical policies, procedures, and systems associated with the financial aid program management of the University.​


Position Details

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Aid Director is responsible for all administrative functions within the Financial Aid Office. The Director will develop, administer and coordinate all of the student financial aid programs to ensure campus recruitment and retention goals are met, as well as, the goals and objectives of Jacksonville University. The Director will coordinate and oversee the leveraging of institutional aid for the University in order to facilitate recruitment and retention, but also to be sure it aligns with the University's annual financial goals. The Director will lead, mentor and develop a staff of nine, award an aid budget of $70 million, including $23 million in institutional aid, and develop new policies and procedures to enhance proficiency.


In addition, the Director is responsible for the compliance of NCAA rules and regulations for Division I sports specifically as it pertains to the awarding of financial aid. The Director is responsible for completing all required annual, federal, state and institutional reports, ensuring excellent customer service, maximizing and leveraging existing technology and resources, collaborate with numerous internal and external constituents, and represent the office on departmental and University committees.





​Successful candidate's should have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with five or more years in progressive management role in financial assistance/financial aid or a related higher education setting-including demonstrated leadership, supervision and motivation of professional staff is required.

Experience within a private, Liberal Arts University and or college is favored. A working knowledge of federal financial aid regulations is required with a knowledge of Florida state scholarship programs preferred. An understanding of financial aid leveraging, extensive use and knowledge of technology (Ellucian/Datatel), and the ability to collect and analyze data are essential.
