Summer Camps

Important Screening Information for Summer Camp Employees, 
Volunteers or any person who comes in contact with a minor.

This is to advise you that in accordance with Florid Statute 409.175 background checks must be obtained for every employee, volunteer, independent contractor and every other person who comes in contact with a minor as part of an officially sanctioned program on the JU campus.  (Link to FL Statute).  This includes all sports, summer camps and any other JU program that includes minors as participants.  A minor is considered to be any child under 18 years of age.  The background checks must be completed prior to the start of any camp or program. 

A completed background check must include the following:

   a.  Criminal background check which includes the Sex Offender Registry.
   b.  Level 2 Background check (fingerprinting)
   c.  Completion of the Affidavit of Good Moral Character.

All costs associated with completing the background checks will be the responsibility of the camp or program.

Dolphin Arts Camp 2014

 Don’t miss out on two weeks of summer fun. No matter what your age you can be the "Star of the Show" and share you talent at JU’s Dolphin Arts Camp . Your child will take part in a live performance and art exhibition at the end of each week. Have a great time each day and even more fun spending the night. Either way, they will make new friends as they enjoy all kinds of fun activities such as art, theatre, dancing, singing, swimming and playing games!

Jacksonville University Summer Intensive 2014

One or Two weeks of Training for the beginning through advanced students ages 10 - 22!

  (Concluding with a final performance at the end of camp)
Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.


Classes: Students will have classes, such as: Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Pilates, Stretch, Dance Photography and Repertory. The dancers will be taught by a faculty who has performed nationally and internationally. Most teachers hold a BFA and some an MFA in dance or JU dance students.

Scholarships: A limited number of talent and need-based scholarships are available. In order to be considered for a scholarship you must complete the application form pay the $30 application fee and then submit two letters of reference from your dance instructor, record a 1-3 minute solo in any dance style, upload it to Youtube or Vimeo, send the link in an email to and send password if required for viewing.  We do not accept DVD videos. 

Dance students DO NOT need to audition to attend our program. Please send us the registration materials below and join us for a summer of dance!
