Successful Event Planning

 
   Step 1: Confirm the Event Location (10-14 days prior to the event date)

  1. Check the Calendar
    The calendar is located on the Jacksonville University web site under About JU. The calendar is regularly updated and gives a reasonable indication whether or not your requested space is available. However, the calendar is not all inclusive; some facilities are reserved/scheduled but not posted on the general calendar.
  2. Place a request for event space
    Jacksonville University faculty and staff should submit space requests on-line. Follow the instructions on the screen to request a space.
    External event clients should submit space requests via e-mail to: dguy@ju.edu or should contact Debbie Guy at 904.256.7048.
     
  3. Wait for space/date confirmation from Office of Events Scheduling
  4. The Office of Events Scheduling will respond via e-mail within 48 hours that your request has been received.  If the event can be confirmed as requested you will receive confirmation. If the event cannot be confirmed as requested (due to lack of availability or more information needed to process the request) or if the request will take longer than 48 hours for confirmation an e-mail response will sent requesting more information.

   Step 2: Planning Your Catering (7 business days or more prior to the event date)
            Contact Steve Rider at 904.256.7539 for your catering needs.

  1. Proper planning = successful event!
    Proper planning is the easiest and most cost effective way to plan your event. Whether a pizza party, continental breakfast, reception, or full-course meal, event planners must adhere to College policies and local and state health regulations for catered events.​
