The Career Development Center (CDC) provides assistance to JU students
seeking help with career-related decisions and career planning. Specifically
students can visit the CDC for help with:
- Choosing / Changing a major
- Researching graduate or professional school
- Determining a career path
- Identifying internship opportunities, part-time and full-time employment
opportunities
- Interview preparation
- Job search strategies
- Resume / Cover Letter / C.V./ Personal Statement critiquing
- All other career concerns
Career Development Services
Student services and programs
are provided to encourage students to explore their interests and values early
in an effort to identify possibilities to develop skills in and knowledge in
their chosen career path. Specific programs and services include:
- Drop-in career consulting
- Confidential, individual career counseling
- Mock-interviewing
Employer Recruitment Services
The CDC also provides
assistance to regional and national employers seeking to recruit JU students for
employment and internship opportunities. The CDC creates opportunities for
students to engage with employers and manages the portal for employers to
connect with JU students and alumni, “Fin Connect.” Over 250 employers recruit
at JU through:
- PHIN Connect (JU online employment database and career management system)
- Annual Spring Career Fair
- On-Campus Recruitment program (OCR) – including interviews, information
sessions and other events.
