Page Content About 40 alumni and members of the Jacksonville University community were able to attend the events surrounding Artis Gilmore’s induction into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. in August. To bring the circle back to where Gilmore’s legendary basketball career started here at JU, the University celebrated his enshrinement with the Artis Gilmore Hall of Fame Celebration December 2 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
Featuring a silent auction, dinner and program, this black-tie and high-tops (optional) affair raised funds for the 53 Campaign, benefitting the JU Scholarship Fund.
