Jacksonville, Fla.—Jacksonville University’s Film and Theatre Programs will release their first feature length (65 minutes) movie collaboration, "In One Brow of Woe," on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. in Swisher Theatre on campus. The film was written by JU alumnus Anthony Bennett and directed by Dr. Carolina Conte and Professor Deborah Jordan. The event is free and open to the public.
“We have very talented and hardworking students, and it has been a joy to be able to work with them in this year-long project,” said Conte. “It’s been an exciting experience shared between JU’s film, theatre and music programs.”
The project brings the story of Andrew, until then an unpopular and unsuccessful student and actor, whose life is forever changed in the course of a stage production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Life, theater and friendship intertwine as Andrew takes on the role of Claudius, and the man and the character become one.
The music in the film was composed by Dr. Scott Watkins and performed by the JU Orchestra. For more information, call (904) 256-7374 or email Conte at cconte@ju.edu.
