Enhancing Campus & Student Life

Future Students

Enhancing Campus and Student Life: $8.4 million

Marine Science Research Institute – $800,000

Our $10 million facility on the St. Johns River, completed in 2010, has become a true gem at JU, with
faculty and students using its rooms and labs to study and preserve Jacksonville’s most significant natural
asset—its waterways. Now, to meet urgent needs, a state-of-the-art $300,000 floating research vessel and
$250,000 dock are envisioned for the institute.

Land Development – $6.6 million

Nearby JU’s beautiful campus is prime acreage with many great features. A timely investment by JU
would land-bank this real estate for future development plans to benefit students.

River House Remodel – $500,000

ASPIRE will convert what is historically known as the President’s residence into a place for students to
congregate and relax. With an overlook to the pool, sand volleyball courts and river, the River House will
be a place for recreation as students come together.

Phillips Fine Arts Remodel – $500,000

JU’s highly regarded College of Fine Arts excels at producing renowned graduates in Dance, Music,
Theatre and Visual Arts. To keep pace with program and student needs, its Phillips Fine Arts Building
must undergo extensive remodeling and restructuring. Performance and gallery spaces will be upgraded
to adhere to long-term program goals and properly showcase student talent.
