College of Health Sciences Growth: $20 million
Ample, quality learning spaces are fundamental to enriching students, faculty and staff. Jacksonville
University’s highly regarded health sciences program has been so successful that it has overflowed
its rooms. Enrollment in the bachelor’s of nursing program is up 25 percent since 2008, and master’s
enrollment has more than doubled. More master’s programs are planned, and our first doctoral program
is in full swing.
To meet an expected burst of demand in the medical field, our 10-year plan is designed to meet these
growth needs. A linchpin to that is ASPIRE’s new proposed 45,000-square-foot College of Health
Sciences building with dedicated classrooms, faculty and staff offices, meeting rooms, a multidisciplinary
simulation learning center and a computer laboratory.
